Behind Goodstone
& Quartz
Navigating the helm of Goodstone & Quartz are the dynamic duo of husband-wife, Jorge and Maria.
Maria, the instrumental force behind all key activities, seamlessly juggles multiple roles, from sales and client communication to assisting clients in choosing the perfect stone and handling all orders. Her keen eye for detail and relentless dedication ensure that every client’s vision is realized to perfection.
On the other hand is Jorge, the backbone of the company who performs the physical labor aspect of the business. His years of on-field experience and expertise bring every envisioned project to life.
A Family Affair
Jorge worked for the predecessor company, Woodstone & Quartz, for 20 years before the duo purchased it in 2020. Turning adversity into opportunity, they carved a successful pandemic story! The pair also changed the name in a humble effort to infuse their personal touch into the company’s long-lasting legacy. The transformation of Woodstone to Goodstone was a symbolic transition, where all the cherished clients, deep-rooted connections, and the core of the original successful business were retained.
Jorge and Maria have been married for over 30 years, and–fun fact–are endurance athletes! They spend their spare time hiking, biking, running marathons or participating in their favorite activities–an Ironman or 70.3 triathlon!
Their two children, Jorge and Andrea, co-owners of Goodstone & Quartz, have inherited their parents’ passion and meticulous work ethic. They’ve devoted their time and effort to the company, contributing significantly to the family business and its success.
Jorge M Mejia
Technology Consultant and Co-founder
Jorge, son of the founders and a technology consultant, co-founded Goodstone & Quartz to support his parents’ 15-year dream. Living in Portland, Oregon, he applies his tech-savvy skills to vet vendors, implement solutions, and occasionally assists in installations. His conviction in his parents’ craftsmanship and business acumen, coupled with quality products and personalized care for each customer, fuels his belief in Goodstone & Quartz’s ability to serve the South Shore community exceptionally.
Andrea Mejia
High School Teacher and Co-founder
Meet Andrea, a key pillar of our team! As a high school teacher in the Boston area, Andrea brings a much-needed calm and enthusiasm to the dynamics of our decision-making. Daughter of Maria and Jorge, Andrea’s supportive nature and passionate involvement continually inspire us and significantly contribute to our cohesive team environment. Even outside of her teaching responsibilities, Andrea’s dedication to fostering learning and growth is evident—she truly embodies the essence of Goodstone & Quartz’s commitment to quality and collaboration.
